Interlaken is
the city/resort in the Jungfrau offering, and as such it offers probably
the widest range of accommodation.
his does not however hold true in winter as
many of the hotels close for the period. The
ones that remain open however tend to be quite good value when the snow
flies. You might look into
that.
The Jungfrau Region trains run from
Interlaken and connect directly to any of the ski areas on the lift map.
Trip duration if memory serves is about thirty minutes. Although many of
the hotels close in winter there is still ample action to occupy your
time during the non-ski hours too
However it is really in summer when this famous city by the lake takes on its
best hue. Everything you
could possibly ask for to indulge in is available, except summer skiing
and beach life.
Still all this information does not preclude you giving
the city a look-see to use as a base for your downhill operations. If you
are traveling to the Jungfrau Ski Region by train, Interlaken is the
place you will arrive. From
there the Jungfrau trains will take you to your chosen resort.
